People like infographics. Use Your Keyword Naturally and in the Right Places<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another golden rule we just couldn\u2019t stress enough. Keywords are placed strategically throughout your content\u2014that\u2019s just how on-page SEO works\u2014but we do not spam keywords and write content that reads like it was written for search robots. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use your chosen keyword naturally throughout the content. Yes, don\u2019t overuse it. Just make it flow naturally. This is one of the best SEO practices you shouldn\u2019t ignore. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aside from having the keyword sprinkled throughout your blog post, your keyword should ideally be in the following places:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The first 100 words of your blog post<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The blog post title<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The blog post url<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>At least one subheading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The alt text of your images<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not really that hard to follow but most people forget where their keyword should be. Keep this in mind and it will definitely help your content rank higher than the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7. Short URLs<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most neglected SEO best practices today\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/moz.com\/blog\/15-seo-best-practices-for-structuring-urls\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, shorter URLs are definitely better and they often outrank longer URLs. Having URLs with less than 50 &#8211; 60 characters is advised but don\u2019t ever make the mistake of having a URL with 100+ characters. That\u2019s just plain overkill! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s really easy to create short URLs nowadays since most blogging platforms like WordPress allow you to easily customize a blog post\u2019s URL and make it shorter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oh, and don\u2019t forget to add keywords in your URL because it\u2019s still a good thing for SEO&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8. Outgoing and Internal Links<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reboot conducted a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rebootonline.com\/blog\/long-term-outgoing-link-experiment\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">study <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that aimed to show a positive correlation between outgoing links and search rankings. The company started by creating 10 new websites that targeted the same keyword\u2014with the keyword being made up and having zero searches on Google. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each site had the similar but unique content and tag structure but only five sites included outgoing links to high authority sites. Reboot monitored the results for a 5-month period and finally ended with a conclusion: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOutgoing relevant links to authoritative sites are considered in the algorithms and do have a positive impact on rankings.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apparently, the five pages that contained outgoing links to high authority sites ranked higher than the websites with no outgoing links at all. This study alone shows how important it is to include outgoing links to high authority sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we\u2019ve mentioned before, Google is all about user experience. Showing that your blog post is well researched and has information coming from high authority sites will tell Google that its users would find your blog post valuable. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, what about internal links? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Internal linking helps you website pages get higher search rankings because it increases user experience, makes website navigation easy, increases dwell time, and decreases bounce rates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We advise you to link to 2-5 older blog posts whenever you create new content. But never make the mistake of adding too many internal links in your blog posts as this can decrease user experience.
